How Convergo works
Convergo (convergo.app) is a web app that finds the fairest place for 2–8 people flying from different cities to meet. It ranks destinations by each traveler’s price, travel time, stops and layovers, with Balanced, Cheapest, Fairest and Most-time-together modes.

Step by step
Where you’d like to go
Pick countries or regions of the world on the map, on the globe or by searching. You can also add specific airports to always include, or exclude some.
When
Three options: flexible dates (any departure in the next 30 days, for the number of nights you choose), exact outbound and return dates with an optional ±1 day tolerance, or travel rules such as “leave Friday, return Sunday, in November and December”.
How many of you
From 2 to 8 people.
Where you fly from
For each person, a nickname and a departure city or airport. Optional: a maximum round-trip budget, and direct flights only (the default) or flights with stops too.
Your destination
Convergo compares everyone’s fares to every possible destination, picks each person’s dates and flights and shows you the ranking. You can switch modes at the top: the ranking updates on the same data. With many travelers the search can take up to two minutes.
What you get in the results
- Recommended destination: the best city for the chosen mode, with dates, nights together, the group total and the gap between the first and last arrival.
- Other options: the full ranking, up to 10 destinations per mode, with a “why this one and not that one” comparison (price, travel time, waiting, stops).
- Each traveler’s itinerary: outbound and return with times, stops, door-to-door duration, price and budget.
- Map: everyone’s routes to the destination.
- Booking links to Skyscanner and, when available, Aviasales. Convergo doesn’t sell tickets.
- Things to do together: in cities covered by Tiqets, a link to the destination’s museums and attractions, with the days you’re all there.
- Live price check: on request, it looks up current offers for the flights to the destination you’re viewing.
- Trip plan to download (a Markdown file) and share with the group.
The four modes
All four modes look at the same destinations and the same flights: what changes is what matters most in the ranking.
Balanced
The sensible middle ground, on by default: comfortable trips and low prices for everyone, with special care for whoever has the hardest journey.
Cheapest
The destination where the group spends the least in total wins, even if someone’s trip is a bit longer or less comfortable.
Fairest
No one should struggle much more than the others: it eases the hardest journey, for at most a few euros more per person.
Most time together
More hours together: it prefers destinations where you arrive early and leave late, even if they cost a little more.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can use Convergo?
Convergo, the web app for finding where to meet by plane, works for groups of 2 to 8 people, each with their own departure city or airport. For each person you can set a maximum round-trip budget and choose direct flights only. Convergo then shows the recommended destination, the alternatives and everyone’s itinerary.
How does Convergo choose the destination?
Convergo collects fares from every departure city to every possible destination and turns price, hours in the air, airport procedures, stops, transfers and waiting into a single cost per person. It then compares destinations according to the chosen mode: in Balanced, the default, whoever is worst off counts three times as much as whoever is best off.
Are Convergo’s prices live?
Not always. Convergo’s results use recent cached fares from Aviasales searches, which can change. For the destination you’re viewing you can run a live price check through Duffel, and every itinerary links to Skyscanner and, when available, Aviasales. Always check the final price on the booking site before you pay.
Is Convergo free?
Yes. Convergo is a free web app for finding where to meet by plane, and it works without sign-up or an account: choose where and when, add your departures and start the search. Convergo doesn’t sell tickets: to book, open the links to Aviasales or Skyscanner and pay directly on their site. The Aviasales and Tiqets links are affiliate links: if you book there, Convergo earns a small commission at no extra cost to you, and the ranking of destinations never depends on it.
What data does Convergo store?
Convergo doesn’t require an account and doesn’t use profiling, advertising or analytics cookies. Travelers’ names aren’t saved. Searches (airports, dates, preferences and results) are kept in logs without names for 12 months, to run and improve the service. All the details are in the privacy policy.
Can I use Convergo for a long-distance relationship?
Yes. Enter your two departure cities and set a travel rule, for example leave Friday and return Sunday in the months you prefer. In the results, Convergo’s Most time together mode puts first the destinations where you arrive earlier and leave later, staying within €60 per person of Balanced.
Does Convergo include trains or buses?
No. Convergo, the app for choosing where to meet, works on flights only: it compares airfares and accounts for the time from the airport to the city center, but it doesn’t search trains, buses or cars. That’s why it doesn’t suggest destinations within 200 km of a departure city, where traveling by land usually makes more sense.
Is Convergo related to other companies named Convergo?
No. Convergo (convergo.app) is a web app for finding where to meet when a group flies from different cities, built in Italy by Francesco Mollica. It is not affiliated with the science communication agency at convergo.com, the sales consultancy at convergo.co or the insurance broker of the same name.
